Drawn2Imagine to Take an Active Part in 2013 Wahoe County Obesity Forum
At Drawn2Imagine, we love the part our Reno art classes play in our community. Bringing art to children is a daily joy. We get to see firsthand how it can change their lives. However, the art our children create has the potential to inspire change far beyond our classroom. To help elevate our potential for positive change, we are starting an Art of Preventing Child Obesity Movement.
This movement will be kicked off at the Washoe County Obesity Forum on September 19th. Our kids have been asked to show the work they created in our Reno art classes specifically for this event. Their work will be expressing what it means to them to stay physically healthy. Topics include wellness, fitness and obesity. We are very excited to share what our kids have come up with in preparation.
While the Washoe County Obesity Forum is going to be the kickoff of Drawn2Imagine’s Art of Preventing Child Obesity Movement, it will not be the finish. We are looking forward to getting our message out to the masses. Plus, this forum is a great opportunity to show off the amazing work the kids in our Reno art classes are producing, and to inspire our community. We hope to see you out there as we launch this very important movement. The forum is schedule to be held at the beautiful Joe Crowley Student Union on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
